E - Touring bike: Disentis - Maighelshütte - Disentis
Show all 9 images
We start the tour on side roads and roads from Disentis via Segnas to Mompé Tujetsch. If we needed more strength than expected despite e-support, we can relax a bit on the descent down to the Rhine. Past the pretty mountain areas of Mises Las Cavorgia we pedal back uphill to Cavorgia, a small village still inhabited all year round. The most beautiful place to take a break is definitely the surroundings of the chapel.
We continue on the right side of the Rhine, (flow direction) drive past the Lag da Claus and later past the Vorderrhein power plant to Selva. Here we change to the cantonal road, which we can leave at the height of the Ziegenalp Milez after Maighels.
In wide bends, the path winds sometimes steeper, sometimes a little flatter, up to the Lai Urlaun. Even the last steep "Stutz" to the hut we master with the bike without any problems.
For the return journey we choose the cantonal road to Disentis.
From Disentis station we follow the signs to Segnas and Mompé Tujetsch. Here we turn left down to the main road. After the bridge, we continue straight down the valley to the Rhine. On the other side we turn right to Cavorgia and Sedrun. At Lag da Claus, below Surrein, we stay to the left of the Rhine, drive up to Surrein and on to the Vorderrhein power plant. Continue straight ahead and just before the playground on the stopped road. This leads up to the junction on the wide hiking trail to Selva. From Selva change to the cantonal road and follow it to the junction to Alp Milez. At the alpine hut we leave the asphalt again and change right onto the natural road to the Maighelshütte.
The return journey leads from the Maighelshütte to the cantonal road on the same path. From here we stay on the cantonal road to Bugnei, where we change to a wide hiking trail.
