Goldwäschersteak - Tour

We start the day with a postbus ride to Curaglia. On a low-traffic road we walk down to the Rein da Medel, one of the numerous tributaries of the Vorderrhein, which also bear the name Rein. Soon we reach the old mule track on the other side of the valley, which leads via Mompé Medel to Disentis. The original, partly stone-lined path is still well preserved in parts. Mompé Medel means "at the foot of the mountain to Medel". The village is located on a hill from where we have a wonderful view of the monastery village of Disentis. On the steep descent to Cuflons we dive into a gorge-like scenery. The Vorderrhein squeezes from here to Fontanivas through a washed-out stream bed with numerous glacier pots. Our steps are getting faster and faster, it attracts the Camping Restaurant in Fontanivas and with its fine cuisine. But today we order a gold panner steak.

With the Postbus we return to Disentis.

The gold panner steak is unique: a tender piece of meat, with a delicious herb sauce and fried potatoes.

From Curaglia we follow the signs for Mutschnengia. Before the last bend we turn right, after Mompé Medel. In Mompé Medel, opposite the chapel, is the descent to Cuflons. At the bridge we keep right and walk along the water to Lukmanierstrasse. Just across the road is the Fontanivas campsite. The Postbus stop can be found at the bridge of Lukmanierstrasse.
