Description

From Disentis station, the trail leads us quickly out to the village down to Brulf, on the Rhine. Along the river we walk to the village of Disla, which is still inhabited and inhabited by about 90 people.  Despite the partly new houses, it has remained very original, lovingly maintained wooden houses line the path, in the gardens grow flowers, berries or fruit and chickens enjoy their run-out in the enclosures. The renovated building of the Walkmühle with its water wheel is immediately noticeable. Behind the picturesque facades of other buildings, however, there are other old businesses that are opened once a year, on the "Mühlentag" or during certain guided tours. In Disla you will also find an old grain mill, a web stube and an old cheese factory. An old forge was converted into a restaurant, Ustria Fravia. The St. Luzius Chapel is striking and unique because of its octagonal shape and is one of the most beautiful baroque buildings in Switzerland.

After our village tour, we climb up to the cantonal road, after which we continue on a nice hiking trail to Faltscharidas wandern. Once back on the main road, we visit the church of Sogn Placi, which has been protected from avalanches by a massive stone wall for decades.

In summer, guided tours are offered on certain dates as part of the guest program of Sedrun Disentis Tourism.

Directions

From Disentis station we follow the signs to Cavradiras. On a low-traffic road we reach down to the Rhine. Before the bridge we turn left to Disla. We walk through the village to the chapel. But then we go back about 150 meters to the junction that leads up to the road. On the other side of the road we find the marked hiking trail that leads us to Faltscharidas. On the Quartierweg, later along the main road, our tour ends again at the train station.
