Description
This tour is not part of the signaled snowshoe trail net. We are in open terrain, where we have to assess the dangers ourselves.
Right at the car we mount the snowshoes and we follow the tracks of the snowmobiles and other snowshoeing down to the stream. We balance over the bridge over the Brenno, which flows silently there. Through the following loose pine forest we behave very quietly, because here also live snow hares. The gnarled Swiss stone pines wear original hats made of snow - a wonderful photo subject. After a short time we step out of the forest and in front of us lies the Alpe Stabbia Nuovo. The high-voltage line clouds the experience of nature only slightly and serves as a guide for us. We walk in a south-easterly direction so that we always have the wires nice on the left side, because this is the best way to find the entrance to the Selva Secca. Now we go down in the forest into a wildly romantic valley where a narrow bridge leads us over the stream. The landscape is varied, open areas and forest alternate. At the Rusticos in Pian Segno we take a break. In Acquacalda we keep to the right of the pass route and we follow the hiking trail through the loose pine forest to Alpe Pozzetta and back to the parking lot in Casaccia.
